PREVIEW

PREVIEW — figures are transcribed, not yet reviewed. Check the cited instrument before relying on them.

RESEARCH STATUSEvery figure on this site is at research status. No reviewer has signed one off, and the national schedule was transcribed by eye from page scans.

Accessibility

A site about money people owe has to be readable by everyone who owes it. This page states what was built deliberately, what is measured, and what to do if something here is still in your way.

What this page claims, and what it does not

It describes what was built deliberately and what was measured. It does not claim a conformance level, because no audit has been run — and claiming one would be the same kind of unearned statement this site refuses to make about its figures.

Colour is never the only signal

Every severity chip, every source chip and every status marker on this site carries a WORD as well as a colour. A row’s consequence class, and whether its figure came from a statute text or a page scan, are both readable in greyscale, in a screenshot, on a printed page and with any form of colour vision.

Contrast is computed, not eyeballed

Every text-on-background pair in this site’s palette was computed with the WCAG relative-luminance formula, and the results are recorded as comments beside the tokens themselves. Two rungs of the palette are marked as never usable for text on particular grounds, and the stylesheet says which and why.

Tables scroll rather than squash

Every data table on this site sits in its own horizontally scrollable region with an accessible name, and a hint appears above it on narrow screens rather than below it — an affordance that arrives after the confusion it exists to prevent is not an affordance. The page body itself never scrolls sideways.

Controls

There is no native dropdown anywhere on this site: the select control is a fully keyboard-operable listbox with type-ahead, and the segmented controls are radio groups. Every interactive target meets the comfortable-touch floor, and the slider thumb carries a larger invisible target than its painted size.

Focus is always visible, and the focus ring changes colour on dark bands because the light-band ring would be effectively invisible there. That is set on the band rather than on each control, so a new link dropped into a dark section inherits it.

Motion

The only animation on this site is a short fade on section entry, and it is disabled entirely for anyone whose system asks for reduced motion.

Known gaps

No screen-reader audit has been run against these pages, and no assistive-technology user has tested them. Several tables are genuinely wide and will require horizontal scrolling on a phone however carefully they are laid out.

Report a barrier

If something here is in your way, write to [email protected] and say which page and what happened. A description of what you were trying to do is more useful than a technical diagnosis.
